Daddy's Little Girl

Two Months and totally cool

Hi Everyone! Well two months down. Other than the lack of sleep, things are going great. Sophie is getting very big and is starting to make lots of noises. She is always moving her mouth around and looks like she wants to talk to us. I can't wait to hear what she has to say. Probably something along the lines of "you two are not as funny as you think you are."

Our Sweet Girl

Our sweet little Bell had her two week doctor appt yesterday. She has gone from 8 lbs 5 oz & 19 & 1/2 inches long to 9 lbs 8 oz & 20 & 3/4 inches long. She is our big growing girl. The doctor said she was perfect. I tend to agree.

One more cutie patootie pic

Isn't she sweet

We are doing well. Dylan went back to work this week and my mom went back over the weekend. Its just the kid and me now...
So far today we made daddy dinner and we napped, and we walked the dogs twice. I am such a domestic goddess! (ha ha)

Isn't she lovely....

Taken May 14th when we got home. She is still a little red and swollen from our delivery, but she already looks differen than she did the first night. She is very quiet and peacefull unless we change her diaper, her clothes, or don't feed her the instant she feels the need to eat. So all in all she is stubborn like her parents. HA HA...
Once I get the pictures off my mom's camera I will post a bunch more.
I should be sleeping right now. I am working on like 3 hours of sleep since we went into the hospital on Saturday, but so far I am not going crazy. Having Dyl and mom here have helped a lot.
Just to also give some love and respect to my husband who was the most wonderful partner a girl could ask for. He was just amazing. Words can not describe how great he was. I am a lucky girl to have both him and my beautiful daughter.
Till next time...

She Has Arrived!

Now introducing Sophie Bell Story

Born at 12:44 am on Sunday, May 13, 2007 - Mother's Day

Weighing in at 8 lbs 5 oz

19 1/2 inches long

Beautiful dark hair all over her head and shoulders (ha ha)

She is beautiful and healthy and wonderful. I got called in for the induction yesterday (5/12) at 6 am. Got to the hospital by 7 and was in the room at 7:15. They started me right off with the pitocin. I was contracting regularly but didn't feel a thing. I wasn't dialating at all, but I thought well this is sooooo easy. I am a rock star! That all changed about 12:45 pm when my OB broke my water. The VERY NEXT contraction was a doozy and then they got progressively worse from there. I did some pain meds that took the edge off for a little bit, but mostly made me loopy and in pain. By 4:00pm I was only dilated to about 3 and in MASSSSSSSSIVE pain. They called the wonderful man with the Epidural and I was feeling much better by 4:45. I was still contracting pretty strongly and regularly, but was only dilated to maybe 4 or 5 by 730pm. Her heart rate started getting eratic so I had to stay on my left side for most of the night and the fact that I wasn't dilating made the doc think we could be heading for a C-section. Which I didn't want. She suspected the baby was turned the wrong way and that could be causing the lack of dilation so they had me lay on my stomach at an incline, which was hard because I couldn't feel my legs. I did that for about 45 minutes and the second I turned over my mucus plug came out and I was dilated to 8. So THANK GOODNESS that worked. That was about 9:30. They said they were going to check me at about 11:30 and if I was at 10 then we could start pushing. The contractions got real strong again and the epidural had to be increased a little. It got pretty bad before the dose kicked in. Once it did I still felt the contractions, but it wasn't painful, just had the massiver urge to push like every minute. At 1130 I was at ten and got to start pushing. Everyone said that first time moms can push from 2 - 3 hours. Which I was not looking forward to. This was the part in the movies that always looked like it was the worst part. It wasn't anything like it is in the movies. It didn't actually hurt me (epidural is my friend), but was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and tiring. I actually only pushed for about 45 minutes and then we had to get the doc in quick cuz she as crowning. Once the doc made it in I had two more sets of pushes and she was out. What a complete and total relief that was!! I can't believe how tiring and long and painful (at times) it was and then its just immediately over. It was great!! I had some small tearing and stitches, but am doing pretty good.

My mom has most of the pictures on her camera so I will post more later.

Nevermind the backfat

So here I am. Large & in charge.

Waiting on the lil stubborn one to decide its time to come out. She shows no signs of wanting to join us. She is already too cool for her parents. Doesn't she know who we are? We are the coooooooolest!!

If I don't go into labor by Friday I am going in for an induction Saturday morning. For those who don't know, Saturday is my mom's birthday and my cousin Briana's birthday. So it looks like a third generation of Tuggey will be born on that day. Much to the pleasure of Mom and Briana. I think a May 12th generational photo is in our future....

Well, until next time (and hopefully it will be with a baby)

Countdown Slowing....

STILL NO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final Countdown

So here it is May 1st. 4 days till my due date. No contractions in site. Just some cramps and kicks.

I go in for a check up tomorrow. They will check to see if I am dilated. So tomorrow at around 1:30 think good thoughts!

They are going to do a procedure that may help out the labor process. For some people it worked right away, for others it didn't work at all. I am hoping it will help. My mom and Larry are driving up Thursday so hopefully it will work and that long drive won't be for not.

They are letting me go till the 12th. If I don't give birth by then they will schedule an inducement. UGH I can't go eleven more days.

Still no baby...

Buffy and I are frustrated that there is no baby yet. She took it out on the toilet paper and I have been taking it out on the laundry. Lets just say I have the cleanest clothes known to man.
Now if only I can get her to pick of the toilet paper and vaccum the living room....
Going stir crazy is highly under-rated...

Sophie Bell & Her Silly Tongue

4/12/07

This is the last ultrasound picture before we get to meet our new daughter. She decided to stick her tongue out at us. I think she is enjoying kicking me around and just wanted to be sure I knew it!

Five Weeks & Counting

So this is all we have done for the nursery so far. The crib and a rug! We are currently putting together a little dresser/changing table, but it came with a wrong part so we are waiting on that. I have a valance to hang and some picture to put on the walls too. As soon as it is done I will post updated pictures. I didn't know how many of you looked at the blog, but at Jay's wedding I was told several times to update it. THANKS! :)

We are on the once a week doctors appts now. Since Dylan works a 4-10 schedule he gets Thursdays off so we schedule them all for Thursdays. Its nice when he gets to go. He cracks the nurses up.

Everything seems to be going well. I originally lost 14 pounds in my first two trimesters and have only put back like 3 pounds. I had room enough for her so the docs think I am doing just fine. Eating healthy and resting and gestating a normal sized baby. THANK GOODNESS. I have another ultrasound some time this month so we will see if she has jumped up in growth, but things seems to be progressing normally.

Speaking of Jay's wedding it was beautiful. I got to go down and be in it and welcome a new sister in law to the family. It meant so much to be part of their special day. Jay is a special person in my & Dylan's life and now we get to add another GIRL to the mix. YAY MEE - GO ESTROGEN!!

Its hard being so far away from family at this time. Many of you expressed your wishes at our return to S. California. We appreciate the love and support from all of you. At this time in our lives its too hard to make such a change, but we never rule it out. Though Dyl is very happy with the cold weather and beautiful scenery after living in the pavement jungle his whole life.

Who knows where this path will take us. As long as we are on the path together I don't care where it leads. As long as Dyl is by my side I know we are where we are meant to be.

Till next time....

Happy New Year Friends & Family

No new pictures this time. I promise we will add some soon.

I had really nice Christmas cards ready to send out and then time seemed to slip away and they never got sent. Oops! :)

So I am now 26 weeks pregnant or six months along for those of you (like me) who don't count time in weeks. Being pregnant requires you to be fluent in all sorts of mom/doctor-like jargon. Someone should tell you this before hand.

The pregnancy is going great. We had a rough start with some bedrest, but now everything is peachy. I actually feel like a human and not some sort of alien like being who... well I will spare you the gory details. I am sure you can figure it out for yourself.

We are still planning for a little girl. Every ultrasound shows no "pokies." The tech has twice said, much to Dyl's horror, that she sees a labia. He doesn't feel like she should be looking let along talking about our daughter's most private parts. He also doesn't want our daughter to look or talk about them till she's thirty. Who knew I married such a conservative!

We made it through our first couple of winter issues up here in good ole Washington. Snow, Ice, Wind... we were waiting for locusts and frogs, but they haven't come yet. In all honesty the snow and ice weren't that big a deal for me. The ground barely got an inch, but it seems Washington is not prepared for such inclimate issues. Chaos ensued and there were thousands of abandoned cars on the freeways and side roads. I don't know what made thee people think that walking down the road was easier than driving. I think they must all be too jittery from all the dang coffee around here.

There is seriously an over abundance of coffee. In the morning on the way to drop dylan off at the Park & Ride we pass by not one, not two, not three, no not four, but SEVEN COFFEE KIOSKS and three starbucks. This road trip is about two miles in length. People.. chill with the coffee... seriously chilllll the efff out! Drink some water or juice or something...

Well until next time..
