Washingtonians

So we did it. It was a fast and furious decision that took us and I am sure our families by surpreez. We packed up our stuff and loaded our truck in one weekend and by Monday July 31st we were on the road. Dylan had the cats with him in the uhaul (in carriers) and I had the dogs with me in the cabrio.

We only made it to Sacremento that first day. We were so tired. So we found a motel, unloaded the animals and tried to get some sleep... it was a good try..

So after one sleepless night in a kinda eerie motel 6 just North of Sacremento we got back on the road. I was hoping to make it to my dad's in Ashland on the first night so we could spend time with him, but we settled on lunch and then went further north to Eugene. It is an odd place. I was born there and have heard many stories from my parents, but now it seems like a sad little cracked out hippy den. I am sure there are other nice places, but where we were was kinda sad.
The motel was new though and we finally got some sleep.

The next morning we woke up and drove through Portland and into Washington and finally to Mill Creek to stay at our friend Karen & Lawrence's place. They welcomed us and our animals, fed us, and the next day took us on a tour of the area.

Instead of having to unload the uhaul into a storage unit and then have to load it back up and move all over again when we found a place, we just decided to try to find a place. After two days of looking and we settled on our new home.

It has been a stressfull and joyfull two weeks.

Below are a few random pictures from our journey and tour of the area when we first got here. Over the next couple of days I will add pictures of our new place and area.

Best,

Lia
